Drilled Micro-Piles involve constructing a deep foundation pile through specialty drilling and construction techniques. These pilings can attain very high strengths in a wide variety of soils. When fitted with the proper tooling, drilled micro-piles can penetrate through buried obstructions such as rock, concrete, and rubble. Both highly reliable and vibration free, drilled micro-piles are widely being used for providing deep foundation support for new and retrofit construction applications.
Within the deep foundation industry, drilled micro-piles are also referred to as:
- Drilled Mini-Piles
- Small Diameter Drilled Piles
- Pin Piles
- DMP's
Helical Piles are sometimes a cost-effective alternative to drilled micro-piles. In the right soils, helical piles can attain very high loading capacities.
